24-hour project

I have been trying for the last year or two to put some finishing touches in Blake's room and this is one of them. Actually, I was going to put a shelf above his bed originally, but plans changed. The shelf just seemed like it stuck out too far (and plus, I had images of it falling on top of him while he was sleeping...I know I am a total worry-wart!) So, I used a little left-over paint, a leveler, a projector and some stain to create this free art above his bed! He is excited about it and I am just glad one more area is complete. Next? I am on the hunt for a horizontal striped fabric to recover his lampshade in... Ah, too many projects, too little time.

  1. Until I read that you had actually painted it on the wall, I thought it was a piece of painted wood. Seriously, is there anything you don't do? A projector, really?! Did you just have one of those lying around?
    It looks great!

  6. I want one! I love it, but my excitement faded when I found out it wasn't vinyl and I would have to paint it myself to have it. I also love the quilt and pillow, which I'm guessing you made as well. Keep the decorating pics coming!

  7. I have GOT to come visit your house when I come to Utah next. I LOVE how you decorate, and since I have no authentic creativity of my own (all of my cools thing/ideas are stolen from things I've seen), I need to see your house to get ideas for mine. Keep posting your beautiful pictures of your home's interior (and exterior for that matter).
