Cassie's Brag Book

My sister, Cassie, sent me pictures of a brag book that I made for her a couple of months ago. I made one for my other sister, Tammy, awhile back too. They were really fun to make. I don't get to do crafty little projects like this as much as I use to do, but I love it when I do. There is one for me in the works right now, maybe you'll see some photos in the near future. It was fun to personalize each one with names, dates, and personality traits.

Polka-dot cake

I made this simple cake for Ryan's sister's b-day on the 18th. It was really easy - bake one white cake mix in two 9" round pans according to directions on box. Cool. Between layers of cooled cake rounds spread 1/3 cup of fluffy white frosting (tinted with food coloring.) Use the rest of the container of frosting to frost the top and sides of the cake. Decorate with round Necco candies or baking melts in your choice of colors. So easy!

Thought for the day...

Wow I actually got one!

I had to post this picture since I rarely get one of both of them looking at the camera with their eyes open and no goofy expressions on their faces. Sometimes I can't believe these little cuties are mine.

Ahoy thar Matey!

Here are some photos from Blake's 6th b-day party. It was a great time for all. It was especially fun to see the kids so excited on the treasure hunt. I just gotta give a shout out to my baby boy. He is amazing. He is so sweet, thoughtful, gosh darn smart and thrives on being a pleaser. He is easy going, friendly, helpful and forgiving. He didn't even complain when I forgot it was "early out day" on his b-day and he had to sit in the office for 20 minutes (I know - I will never forgive myself for that one! I didn't even realize it at first. I showed up with donuts and balloons and when I got there - the classroom was empty. Such a schmuck!) But, I am so thankful to be a Mom and thankful to Heavenly Father for giving me such a special boy. He is growing up so fast and I know he will be a wonderful, tender, yet strong man someday. I gotta capture every moment.

Husband Appreciation Night

Some of you have heard stories about "Wife Appreciation Night." Ryan and our friend Matt have orchestrated 4 of these now over the last few years. Each one has been fabulous - filled with creative invitations, great restaurants and great friends, gifts, cards, funny books (Lisa have you read yours yet?:)), on one occasion: matching t-shirts (don't ask - One yellow, Op polo shirt up for grabs. Anyone?) Well, Lisa and I finally got our butt's in gear and planned a "Husband Appreciation Night." It was long over due. I know it probably didn't measure up to the creativeness that our Husbands have had in the past for these occasions, but hopefully they had a good time! We surprised our guys with a ride on the Park City Zip Line, dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (which was SOOO good!) and then dessert at a quaint little restaurant on Main Street. Park City was beautiful and we all felt like we need to get up there a little more often. It's a great little town.
