Hello. How are ya?
Did you notice there is no "Sew Inspiring Rooms" feature today?
Kinda sad, I know. I had a guest blogger lined up for today but unfortunately they had to cancel (last minute) and I didn't think I had enough time to find a replacement. So I apologize. It's a busy time of life. I think we're just going to take a break for a week or two but we'll have some fun guests later on this month!
In the meantime, if you, yourself, would like to share a fabulous photo or two from your Sew Inspiring Room ~ feel free to send me a picture! I'll post your picture and give a shout out to you/your blog. Or maybe even have you do your very own post. Sew Inspiring Rooms can be big or small, fancy or simple. Please send photos to me at adctd2qultng@gmail.com
As for me and my house ~
I finished up this quilt and am almost done with the instructions. Like I said before, this is just a simple, patchworky, charm - friendly quilt.
Pattern coming soon.
Needing a name for it though...any ideas?
There could be a free pattern in it for you if I pick your idea?!?
Bribery :)
Does it work?
I have a hard time naming my own quilts. I think "Going to Pieces" might be a good name.
ReplyDeleteBribery is always good! How about Four by Four!
ReplyDeleteSorry I don't have a name for it but I LOVE your fabric choices! Did you work from 1 line or was it just a stash buster? AND....I'd have never thought of using a dotted background but it looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to order the pattern once it's out since i won't win without naming it :)
Peggy
So... when I first looked at this quilt, I thought of my kids playing 4 Square at school.... and then I thought of Square roots - (looks like the smaller squares are about 1/4 the size of the larger ones.....) Or Square Dance..... The colors make me want to describe them.... like "Tangerines in the Tide".....
ReplyDeleteSo all kids of thoughts went through my head for this great quilt, Orange You Blue, City Sidewalks City Blocks, Downtown Square but then songs were flitting through my head and '="It's Hip to Be Square" just came out. The cool fabric, the multiple sized squares, I think it fits.
ReplyDeleteCute quilt! I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteHow about...Around the Block ?
How about "Thrice Around the Blocks"??
ReplyDeleteI like the squares pretty cool.

I posted about my craft room not too long ago, maybe not inspiring, but have a look

I like Squares of Mischief. No idea why that came to my head.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your quilt!
I love the quilt. The name that comes to my mind is Cobblestones.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt just looks so happy to me, and I love squares -- how about "Happy Squares!" I really want to do an orange and aqua quilt. Such happy colors!
ReplyDeleteDarling pattern and fabric choices! Just looks so fresh and airy and delightful! How about Cake Walk?
ReplyDeleteHow about "Pantone Color" because your quilt is made with the Pantone colors for 2011 (turquoise)and 2012 (tangerine).
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt..."Once Around the Block" is the name that came to me when I saw it....
ReplyDeleteThis quilt reminds me of a gathering of adults and children. How about Family Band?
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your quilt I thought of "Big and Little" it's adorable - Terry :)
ReplyDeleteCute! I think I would call it "Square Dance". To me it looks like the little ones are sashaying around the larger ones.
ReplyDeleteWhat about "All Squared up" as a name for your quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, great choice of colours.
The simplier the better. I love quilts like this. I say call it Simply Squared.
ReplyDeleteHow about All Sqaured Up and Someplace to Go?
ReplyDeleteLove the colors you chose.
I would call this beauty "Downtown" it looks so much like buildings in the blocks of a downtown city center with sidewalks on every side. Very cute!!
ReplyDeleteYou could just call it "Bribery"!!! Or "This Year & Last" as implied by the Pantone names/numbers?
ReplyDeleteHi! What do you think about Dots & Boxes? Barbara from Italy
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand way to use some of these charm packs I'm sprouting??!! How about "Charming", because it is!
ReplyDeleteThere are already given a lot of fitting names, but here's my 2 cents: Calling all Squares.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful quilt! Love the colors.
What a beautiful quilt! The first thing that popped into my head when I saw it was: A Walk Around the Block.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a joyous quilt - how about "Ode to Joy"?
ReplyDeleteLove the colors too. How about "Charming"?
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt! Love the names all the posters have given! How creative! Can't wait to see which name you choose.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Building Blocks"
ReplyDeleteI Like your patch and when I saw it for me its was : PackmanPatch .
ReplyDeleteLaurence
I love all the names the posters have given too. But I liked the one who said, "Square Dance" the best. How cute is that?
ReplyDeleteBut if I'm trying to be original I'd say, Block Party!
"Boxed In". So cute- love the symmetry.
ReplyDelete"Just Dottie"...I love this quilt...the colors are fabulous. Great job!
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of a stone patio so how about "stepping stones" or "patio squares"?
ReplyDeletehttp://everydayimstitchin.blogspot.com/ Lots of my sewing pics on here or via my Flickr account (link on my main blog page
ReplyDeleteI have added a link to your blog on my page as I find you really inspiring :D
Love the quilt! The color combo is so fun!
ReplyDeleteCAS
"Light in the Window"
ReplyDeleteLove the colours and simple design. My first thought for a name was 'letters and postage stamps'.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this quilt...the design, the colors...all of it. How about Heavenly Squared
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt - don't normally like orange but it looks great with the turquoise and white. My name suggestion is BOXED IN
ReplyDelete"Stepping Stones" is what comes to mind. Nice pattern!!
ReplyDeleteWhat about 'Sunset Blue'
ReplyDeleteSince blue and orange are complementary colors, you can call the quilt "With my complements." I especially like the use of the word complement as it describes "an addition that produces completeness or perfection in something" (from online thesaurus). You have used an untraditional blue for the orange for a perfect result.
ReplyDeleteI love the use of squares - they produce such a balanced image. You could call your quilt "on Balance" as both your colours and squares are well balanced. Or "Making the Point," kind of proving both the colour theory and the geometry of the the squares. Along this line you can call it "Practiced theory" or "The Proof is in the Pudding."
All in all, I like "With my complements" if it's going to be used by your guests and "The Proof is in the Pudding" because it so clearly shows a contemporary spin on the classic rules.
Cheers!
Love the division of the squares! They remind me of pieces of land. Names... Hmmm... "Garden Plots" or even better "Garden Paths".
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this quilt! My daughter-in-law used these colors to make a quilt a couple of months ago. At first I thought I wouldn't like it, but it turned out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI would love to know what pattern this is so I could make it myself... I'm a beginner! It's a perfect design for my sister in law! I think I'd call it "Morning Tangerine"!!!
ReplyDeleteRachelle,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like this pattern. It would be great for a beginner. I am working on the pattern right now and it should be ready in the next few weeks. I'll announce it on my blog when it's available.
P.S. I wanted to email you back, but you are a no-reply blogger. Sorry. I hope you get this!!!
Sincerely,
Amber
The colors make me think of tropical flowers, so I'd call it Tropical Tiles. That might suggest other colorways to potential quilters - blues & greens would make Seaside Tiles etc. Love your color combo!
ReplyDeleteI think i might be too late to enter, but i can't resist rowing in anyway. It reminds me everso much of a bright summery sunset on the coast - G&T o'clock. So my suggestion would be "seaside windows".
ReplyDelete(I really like "this year and last" though- clever!)
just got the message. can't wait. thanks!
ReplyDeleteHave you named it yet? The minute I saw it, it reminded me of moons orbiting planets - so 'In orbit' would be my suggestion! Lovely design, by the way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt -- when I saw it I thought of Squared by Design -- great work -- thanks :) Terry
