I am quilting.
Not pebbles.
Not swirls or circles or flowers.
Not feathers or clam shells.
Not headbands (although those are really fun).
Not leaves or bouncing bananas.
Just some little stars.
I'm not perfect. I'm just a beginner. But I'm having fun trying.
My little folk artsy flag is all basted (sorta - I'm too lazy to go to the store to get real basting pins so I'm using straight pins). It's a small project so I think it'll be okay.
Time to dive in.
Wish me luck :)

P.S. What are YOU doing today?
You are doing very well. I am a beginner also. I am just finishing the binding on a little table topper.Happy Stitching!
ReplyDeleteI don't think the quilt police will come get you for the pins!! I love love your quilt and can't wait to see it done and all spread out! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're doing a great job. I'm working on quilted eyeglass cases for an eyeglass distribution mission trip in July.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome to see all those practice pieces. I think that are awesome and very inspiring. Can't wait to see the flag all finished :)!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing GREAT!!! That does not look like a beginner to me! Thanks for a very enjoyable blog!
ReplyDeleteHaving fun is #1!!
ReplyDeleteReally lovely, you put a smile on my face and I'm sure there is no written law that says you cannot use pins if that is all you have.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are doing well. I am a beginner on free motion quilting and it scares me to death. I am so afraid that I am going to destroy my work when I try to FM quilt it. I have done very small projects but not a big quilt yet and I have two ready to be quilted. I just need to keep practicing I know.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with yours. can't wait to see the finished product. It looks pretty awesome so far.
I am impressed by how clean your sewing table is. Wow.
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome that you are TRYING! You will get there! You are doing fine with your quilting. So many quilters don't even TRY, they just hand their work off to a longarmer. You should be very proud!
ReplyDeleteTrying is the best way of getting better, good and then very good. In Germany we have a saying: "Practise makes the master."
